2020 C-SPAN Research Conference Call for Papers

The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement will host its seventh annual research conference at Purdue University October 19-20, 2020. Papers are invited that use the C-SPAN Archives to analyze the presidency, Congress, courts, elections rhetoric, political communication, history, or other social science disciplines. A panel on papers analyzing big data will be scheduled. The Archives is developing a new API to allow scholars to access the Video Library. Papers will be published in the annual Purdue University volume, The Year in C-SPAN Archives Research. The theme of this year’s conference is Democracy and Media.

Proposals are due May 1, 2020 at docs.lib.purdue.edu/ccse. Selected participants will receive a $2000 research stipend that can also be used for travel and lodging.
