The Center for the Environment at Discovery Park invites you to join them as they welcome Dr. Mangala Subramaniam to present their first virtual “Lunch & Learn” event of the Fall 2020 semester. It is titled, “Environmental Justice: Local and Global Struggles.”
This will be the first in the Center for the Environment’s year-long program of conversations about intersections between environmental and social justice. All Lunch & Learn sessions will feature a guest presenter who will speak on topics of Environmental Justice. The events will take place via WebEx (URL provided upon registration).
Dr. Subramaniam’s presentation will focus on local and global struggles for environmental justice as communities confront institutions at the state and global levels. She draws on her work as well as collaborations to engage the topic in terms of gender and its intersections with class, caste, and race. It is scheduled for Wednesday September 9, 2020 at 12 PM Noon, ET.
